Inspired by the distinctive floral paintings of Cedric Morris, Morris Meadow captures the wonderfully expressive energy of his richly textured, impasto style. Painted in the Liberty design studio, a lively garden border bursts into bloom with poppies, hyacinths, echinacea and, of course, Morris’s much-loved irises.

Bold brushwork, vibrant colour and layers of texture give the design a wonderfully spontaneous quality, as though the flowers are growing freely across the fabric. Joyful and painterly, Morris Meadow beautifully celebrates the artist’s enduring fascination with the flowers he grew and painted.

Morris Meadow forms part of Painted Garden, the third chapter of the Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, exploring the vibrant fusion of colour, pattern and texture found in the work of artists inspired by their own cultivated gardens, and the fascinating relationship between nature and creativity.
