Originally created as a Liberty furnishing fabric in 1967, Winter Pop is a bold and wonderfully graphic design inspired by the stained glass of Belgium’s Art Nouveau masterpiece, the Winter Garden of the Ursulines. Strong outlines and sweeping curves give the pattern its distinctive character, echoing the decorative beauty of this remarkable glasshouse.
With its twisting lines and intricately intertwined motifs, Winter Pop perfectly captures the flowing, organic style of Art Nouveau. Striking yet beautifully fluid, it is a fabulous example of a Liberty archive design that feels every bit as exciting today as it did when first created.
Winter Pop forms part of Gallery Garden, the second chapter of the Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, exploring the history of gardens and the art they have inspired through the ages, from Egyptian and Roman influences to Persian miniature gardens and Japanese Zen landscapes.
